About Tesamorelin
Tesamorelin is a synthetic 44-amino-acid analog of human growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH).
A trans-3-hexenoyl group is attached to the N-terminal tyrosine. This modification increases resistance to enzymatic cleavage compared with the unmodified sequence, making the peptide a useful model for studying N-terminal protection strategies.
Laboratory applications include GHRH receptor pharmacology and comparisons with shorter fragments such as sermorelin.
