About KPV
KPV is the tripeptide Lys-Pro-Val, corresponding to residues 11–13 at the C-terminus of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH).
Laboratory studies use KPV to investigate inflammatory signaling, for example NF-κB pathway activity, in cell models, and to study uptake of small peptides through the PepT1 transporter.
Common research areas
- NF-κB signaling in cell models
- Melanocortin peptide fragment research
- PepT1-mediated peptide transport
- Short-peptide stability
Descriptions are general scientific background for laboratory researchers. They are not claims of safety, efficacy or suitability for any use in humans or animals.

Store sealed vials refrigerated at 2–8 °C, protected from light and moisture. For extended storage, −20 °C is standard practice for lyophilized peptides. Allow vials to reach room temperature before opening to limit condensation, and avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
Handle all research materials using appropriate laboratory practices and personal protective equipment, in line with your institution’s safety procedures. Keep out of reach of children.
Each container is printed with a lot number (CRL-KPV-10-0915). The Certificate of Analysis for each lot reports HPLC purity and mass-spectrometry identity results.
